Watch: CNN Admits Trump Team Shredded Michael Cohen’s Credibility

Anderson Cooper remark jurors watching exchange ‘would think this guy’s [Cohen’s] making this up as he’s going along…’

An attorney representing Donald Trump dismantled former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen on cross-examination Thursday, undermining the previous testimony and credibility of the prosecution’s key star witness in the former president’s New York City “hush money” trial.

The devastating takedown of Cohen by Trump lawyer Todd Blanche was so brutal, it prompted the likes of CNN’s Anderson Cooper to remark that jurors watching the exchange “would think this guy’s [Cohen’s] making this up as he’s going along or he’s making this particular story up.”

Likewise, CNN legal analyst Elie Honig agreed Cohen’s “knees” were “chopped out” by Blanche.

Elsewhere during cross-examination, Cohen, who was convicted of perjury in 2018, admitted to Trump’s legal team he’d been coerced to plead guilty to tax evasion charges and falsifying bank statements out of fear prosecutors would indict his wife.

President Trump commented on Day 18 proceedings Thursday:

Several GOP reps also attended the trial in support of President Trump Thursday:

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) remarked, “If I started a story with a convicted felon and a hooker walk into a bar you would immediately know it’s a joke. That’s what we have here. A joke of a trial.”
